Résumé

Français : La pièce de théâtre statique s’est désormais imposée comme un genre dramatique. Sans action, la pièce de Lagarce J’étais dans ma maison et j’attendais que la pluie vienne montre la réaction de cinq femmes quand revient mourir dans la maison familiale celui, jeune encore, qu’elles ont attendu pendant des années, qui est leur fils ou leur frère et qu’on ne verra jamais en scène. La pièce propose une théâtralité minimale, rassemblée dans une seule situation élémentaire, celle d’un réel familial et domestique banal, en un seul lieu sans matérialité, dans un temps qui s’est arrêté. C’est dans ce cadre structurel que la pièce concentre une théâtralité de la parole. La stase due à l’absence d’action est accentuée par la parole surabondante et intarissable des personnages.

English: The static play has now established itself as a dramatic genre. Without action, Lagarce's play, J’étais dans ma maison et j’attendais que la pluie vienne, shows the reaction of five women when the one they have waited for years, still young, who is their son or their brother and who will never be seen on stage, returns to the family home to die. The play proposes a minimal theatricality, gathered in a single elementary situation, that of a banal family and domestic reality, in a single place without materiality, in a time that has come to a standstill. It is within this structural framework that the play concentrates a theatricality of speech. The stasis due to the absence of action is accentuated by the superabundant and inexhaustible speech of the characters.
