Français : Ce volume réunit des photographies de Jean-Louis Rabeux et des phrases manuscrites d’Aragon, dans un dispositif textuel qui livre un premier discours de celui qui se pose en destinataire des vues : l’homme âgé, face à ses « portraits » qui sont apparitions ou mises en scènes. L’écriture de soi se fait tour à tour adresse au photographe, aux autres et à soi-même. L’attention qu’a toujours portée Aragon à l’image, est ici particulièrement précieuse pour la saisie des enjeux de ce dispositif textuel : l’écriture de soi sensible aux bougés de l’identité exhibe une tension entre « dispositif de scène » et « dispositif de récit » qui semble alors ce qui permet une effective construction du sujet dans sa complexité.

English: This book brings together photographs by Jean-Louis Rabeux and handwritten sentences by Aragon to create an arrangement which presents the reader with a first discourse, that of Aragon adressing himself as an old man confronted with « portraits » of him – brief apparitions or staged images. His self-writing is in turn adressed to the photographer, to other people and to himself. The ever-careful attention of Aragon to images is crucial to keep in mind in order to grasp what is at play in such an arrangement : self-writing, in tune with the malleable character of identity, brings forth a tension between « staging » and « narrative », which seems then to be decisive in enabling the actual construction of the self in its complexity.
