Résumé

Français : « Ma mémoire est un panorama » écrit Chateaubriand dans les Mémoires d’outre-tombe, mobilisant ainsi un dispositif optique récemment mis à la mode pour traduire la construction mémorielle de soi. En mettant l’accent sur les pratiques de quelques auteurs (Chateaubriand, Hugo, Dumas, Nerval…), on verra comment l’usage paradigmatique de ces dispositifs permet au sujet de se raconter et d’explorer les méandres de la psyché, entre agencement des souvenirs, omission et anamnèse.

English: « Ma mémoire est un panorama » wrote Chateaubriand in Mémoires d’outre-tombe, he refers to an optical device that has recently been brought into fashion at the begining of the Nineteeth Century. The writer’s aim is to give a new approach of memory phenomenon, the description of which is inspired by the spectacular paintings called Panoramas. By focusing on the practices of a few authors (Chateaubriand, Hugo, Dumas, Nerval...), we will see how the paradigmatic use of these devices allows the subject to tell his story and explore the meanders of the psyche, between omission and anamnesis.
